Q1. Do patients receive adequate information before and after their surgery?
Analysis
These are interesting responses in that they show patients believe they receive adequate pre and post-operative information about their surgery, but their GP's believe they don't. Nursing Staff were divided about this issue.
The explanation is simple. We have sampled our own patients, where we try to provide good pre and post operative explanation, using operative imaging and diagrams. The GP's on the other hand are responding on behalf of a broad base of patients.
This data supports the fact that with a little effort, patient satisfaction about knowledge dissemination can be extremely high - although we did not anticipate the returned 100% positive response.
