This is a very common procedure that has been performed for many years as a day only operation. A laparoscopy is performed and then small titanium clips placed over the tubes to stop the eggs passing into the uterus. There is a very small chance of failure, usually if the clips fall off or only partially occlude the tubes, and the operation may not be reversed easily in all cases.

The clips are placed over both fallopian tubes
