Endometrial ablation was suggested to me by my local doctor because I have very heavy periods that drain me for at least a full day if not longer. I read the blurb about endometrial ablation and it seems to me the perfect solution to this problem. I do not plan to have children in the future and always practice safe sex. I don't consider this to be a contraceptive!!!!
Endometrial ablation can be done quite easily. There is a 25% failure rate at 5 years requiring subsequent surgery and usually hysterectomy. For this reason many gynaecologists are limiting the cases they do. If you would like to proceed you would need to speak to a gynaecologist about the procedure and your specific case.
